MS Lab is a Japanese engineering company founded by a mechanical design engineer. We work across four areas — industrial automation, technical media, web applications, and consulting — all of them growing out of hands-on work on the factory floor.

What We Do

Automation
Mechanical design, electrical hardware design, and PLC / HMI programming for automation and semi-automation equipment. We take a machine from concept through detailed design to on-site commissioning, so nothing falls through the gap between the mechanical and electrical sides.
Media
Technical articles, diagrams, and videos on mechanical design and automation. We run the blog and YouTube channel “Monozukuri no Susume”, write for technical trade media, publish books, and speak at seminars.
Web Application
Web apps and tools built from problems we hit as designers ourselves. We develop and operate UPDRAFT, a productivity app for mechanical engineers, and take on contract development.
Consulting
Technical advice for engineers, and support for companies building products and services for the manufacturing industry. We help judge whether what you are building is the right thing to build.
